What is the TIMP?

The TIMP is a test of functional motor behavior in infants for use by physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other health professionals in special care nurseries and early intervention or diagnostic follow-up settings.

The test assesses the postural and selective control of movement needed for functional motor performance in early infancy and has been shown through research to diagnose motor developmental delay from 34 weeks postconceptional age through 4 months post term.

How To Use This Site

1. Administer tests to infants using the paper version of the TIMP form. The paper form includes full instructions and sample procedure photos.
2. Log in to this web site and enter all infant data and TIMP results.
3. Download results charts and narrative reports. Thse files can be printed out and faxed, and/or they can be appended to your organization's Electronic Medical Record system.
